I discovered how to categorize, store and analyze data, behavioural trends and patterns in JCCC’s Data Analytics courses. I gained a strong understanding of data fundamentals and the practical applications of data analysis. I learned techniques and tools that data analysts and data scientists use daily and learnt about various topics including:

SQL for data analysis
Statistical programming
Data mining
Machine learning
Big data architecture

Focusing on the technical subjects and management of IT and administrative networks, I worked with databases, programmers and developers to become a problem-solver. I learnt the fundamentals of UNIX scripting and utilities, Database management, How to write programming algorithms using general-purpose C++, multi-purpose C#, Python, Java, html5, css3 and JavaScript, as well as how to code, test and debug a series of commands that gradually become a working program.

The bachelor's degree in biological science at McNeese combines interdisciplinary study, scientific research, community
service and professional activities to teach students the structure, functions and development of living organisms. With a
wide range of research opportunities, the biological sciences degree program prepares students with the skills required to
enter the professional workforce in a variety of careers, or to pursue advanced study in graduate or professional schools.
